Connect Twilio in three steps

Paste the SID, token and numbers
In Alerting → Integrations, choose Twilio, name it, and fill four fields: Account SID, auth token, the Twilio number that sends and the phone number that receives. Then hit send test.
Teach your phone the sender
The sending number never changes, so save it as “Uptimia Alerts”: pin the thread, give it a tone you’d wake to, allow it through Do Not Disturb for the 03:00 kind of alert. Then point monitors at it.
Put silence on a timer
An unacknowledged alert climbs at the pace you set: a second number, another channel, the next person on the list. Acknowledge from the dashboard and the climbing stops — ladders come with the Professional plan and above; Twilio texts themselves work on every plan.

How Twilio SMS alerts work
Uptimia watches your websites from 171+ external locations in 70+ countries and, when one fails, sends a plain-text SMS through your own Twilio account — from your Twilio number to any phone you choose. Connecting takes four values from the Twilio console: Account SID, auth token, the sending number and the receiving number. Because the sender belongs to you, the alert thread is a contact you can pin, ring-tone and allow through Do Not Disturb — and it never changes. Uptimia adds no per-message fee and spends none of the SMS allowance in your plan; Twilio bills your account at its standard rate. When the site recovers, the all-clear arrives in the same thread — for uptime, transaction, speed, real-user, server, heartbeat, blacklist, DNS and API checks it carries the total downtime.
When the message allowance runs out
Metered bundles and shared shortcodes fail at the worst time: the meter empties on a long night, and a rotating sender can’t be saved or let through Do Not Disturb. Owning the pipe removes both.
