WhatsApp uptime alerts that reach you first.

Uptimia watches your sites from 171+ locations in 70+ countries. When one fails, its business account messages your number — nothing to install, no account to create, nothing to approve at Meta.

Alerts in an app you muted

Dedicated ops apps assume you’ll adopt them — install it, allow its notifications, remember it exists on a Friday night. The outage doesn’t wait for that habit to form.

the app you answer in minutes

No adoption curve, no new habit to build. The downtime message queues up with the family group and the client threads — in the one inbox you demonstrably check.

The fix isn’t more discipline about checking dashboards. It’s putting the news in the messenger you already answer. Here’s a Friday-evening outage, end to end:

The booking page that stopped

19:26 on a Friday, dinner on the stove: a client’s booking page stopped answering while every other monitor on the dashboard stayed green. By 19:44 it was taking bookings again.

Setup is one phone number

WhatsApp makes a business register every message template with Meta before it can send an alert. Uptimia has done that — its business account, its approved templates. Your half is a phone number.

Step 11 min

Add your number, once

Under Integrations, pick WhatsApp and type your number with the country code. That one field is the entire configuration — no pairing, no API key, no Meta login — and the test button proves the wiring on the spot.

the test message opens the thread · wiring proven
Step 21 min

Point monitors at the thread

The test message opens the thread before anything breaks, so pin it. Then add that WhatsApp number as a contact and pick it on the monitors that should reach you — client work, side projects, everything.

Step 3optional

Give the alert somewhere to climb

If nobody acknowledges, escalation moves on after a delay you pick — a teammate’s WhatsApp, an SMS, the next contact on the list. Maintenance windows and quiet hours are respected. Escalation policies come with the Professional plan and above; WhatsApp alerts themselves work on every plan.

Nine monitor types, one number

A homepage ping proves the homepage and nothing else. The checkout replay, the certificate, the domain renewal, the server’s disk, the 03:00 backup that went quiet — nine monitor types hold approved templates, and each knocks on the same thread. Eight of them are drawn here.

One thread per person on call

WhatsApp delivers person-to-person — every number is its own contact in Uptimia. That turns routing into a people question: who should feel the buzz first, and who backs them up when they don’t.

How WhatsApp website-monitoring alerts work

Uptimia checks your websites from 171+ external locations in 70+ countries and, when a check fails, sends a WhatsApp template message from its business account straight to your phone number. WhatsApp requires businesses to pre-register message templates with Meta — Uptimia has done that part, so there is nothing to approve, host or configure on your side. You type a number; alerts arrive as ordinary WhatsApp messages, and when the site recovers the all-clear lands in the same thread with the total downtime.

except yours

Most downtime is yours, not the host’s — an expired certificate, a bad plugin update, a disk that filled up. Every one of those leaves the provider’s status page green while your visitors bounce.

WhatsApp alerts FAQ

01Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?+
No. Regular WhatsApp on your phone is enough. Uptimia operates the business side — the sending account and the Meta-approved message templates — and you simply receive messages, like from any other contact.
02What do I actually have to configure?+
One field: your phone number, with country code. There’s no QR pairing, no API key, no webhook and nothing to install — the number is the integration. Send the test message to prove the wiring before anything real depends on it.
03Why do the alerts have such a fixed format?+
WhatsApp’s rules require businesses to send pre-registered message templates that Meta has reviewed. Uptimia maintains those templates, which is why every alert has the same glanceable shape — the monitor’s name and what happened, with recoveries adding the total downtime.
04Are the messages available in other languages?+
The WhatsApp alert templates are English-only — every language variant would be a separate Meta-reviewed template. The alerts stay short and factual, so they read at a glance; the rest of Uptimia, including e-mail alerts and reports, follows your language settings.
05Can alerts go to a WhatsApp group?+
No — the WhatsApp Business platform delivers to individual numbers, so alerts arrive in a one-to-one thread. Teams handle this by giving each person their own WhatsApp contact in Uptimia: everyone gets the buzz on their own phone, and nobody depends on someone forwarding it.
06What if I don’t see the message in time?+
Escalation policies — Professional plan and above — cover the gap: if nobody acknowledges, Uptimia waits the delay you chose and moves on — another WhatsApp number, an SMS, the next contact on the list. Any acknowledgement, from anyone, stops the climb.
07Which monitor types can message me?+
Uptime, transactions, page speed, SSL, domain, malware, server, heartbeat and real-user monitoring each have their own approved WhatsApp template, so whichever of them breaks can reach your number. The newest check types — DNS, blacklist and API monitoring — alert on the other channels while their templates go through Meta’s review.
08Will my WhatsApp turn into a firehose?+
It stays quiet. Up to three regions have to agree before an alert fires, maintenance windows mute planned work, and quiet hours are honoured per person. One thing to know: WhatsApp templates are fixed, so they can’t bundle several failures into one digest the way the team channels do — each failing monitor sends its own short message and its own recovery.
09Can Uptimia read my WhatsApp conversations?+
No. The integration only sends: template messages go out from Uptimia’s business account to your number. Your chats, groups and contacts stay on your phone and are never visible to Uptimia — deleting the contact in Uptimia switches the channel off.
10Does WhatsApp alerting cost extra?+
No — it’s one of 12 built-in alert channels, available on every plan and during the 30-day free trial. No credit card required to try it.
