Website monitoring with Slack alerts that land first.

Uptimia runs 12 monitor types — uptime, checkout flows, SSL, DNS, servers, cron jobs — from 171+ checkpoints in 70+ countries. A confirmed failure posts straight into your Slack channel — the affected monitor, the failure line, priority and type in one message.

The outage nobody is watching

The site is up every time anyone looks, so the belief holds. But a failing server does not ring, mail or page — it goes quiet, and quiet is exactly what a browser tab looks like when nobody has it open.

The belief

Someone would notice in minutes

surely…
Someone notices
…eventually?

Nobody reloads the homepage on a schedule, and a 503 announces itself to nobody. The belief survives because you have never been in the room when the site failed.

The news arrives through the people it already cost you, one ticket at a time, long after the first failed request.

The question was never whether you find out — it's who tells you, and how fast. Below, the same 9:14 failure with a monitor watching and a webhook pointed at #alerts-prod.

One outage, never leaving Slack

Connect Slack in three steps

From creating the webhook to a test message sitting in your channel.

Step 11 min

Create the incoming webhook

In Slack, turn on Incoming Webhooks and point one at a channel. Paste the hooks.slack.com URL into Uptimia, save, then hit Test — the channel gets a confirmation message before anything real does.

#alerts-prod Send test
test message delivered · ready to use
Step 21 min

Add it as a contact

A Slack contact wraps that one webhook. Tick it on the monitors that should use it — each monitor keeps its own recipient list, so urgent goes to on-call and warnings go to ops.

Alert this monitor to
#alerts-prod#ops-warningsEmail
Payments API → posts to #alerts-prod
Step 3optional

Attach an escalation policy

Decide who gets pinged next if nobody responds. This is also what puts the acknowledge link in the Slack message, because acknowledging is what pauses the ladder. Policies come with the Professional plan and above.

If nobody acknowledges — escalate

Twelve monitor types, one Slack channel

A homepage ping proves the homepage. The checkout flow, the certificate, the DNS answer, the server underneath and the cron job at 03:00 each fail their own way — and each raises the alarm through the same webhook.

Uptime & API chainsEvery URL — and every step of an API call
SSL certificatesCaught before browsers warn
DNS & domain expiryZone edits, and the renewal nobody remembers
Server metricsThe server underneath it all

Heartbeats & cronNight jobs that fail silently
TransactionsThe checkout the ping never saw
Malware & blacklistsBefore Google or a mailbox flags you

One webhook, one channel

A Slack incoming webhook is bound to the channel you created it in, so routing is simply a question of which webhook a monitor uses. Outages page on-call, certificate warnings wait for daylight, speed numbers keep score — and nobody mutes a channel that only pings them about their own thing.

The platform behind the ping

Slack is where the news arrives. Behind it sit the checks that find the problem, the record that proves your uptime, and the page that tells your customers.

How Slack alerts work

Uptimia checks your sites from outside and, the moment a failure is confirmed, POSTs a Block Kit message to your Slack incoming webhook. The message names the affected monitor, the failure, the priority and the monitor type — and on an escalation-policy incident it carries a signed acknowledge link. Recovery posts a follow-up with the total time down.

Slack alerts FAQ

01What is website monitoring with Slack alerts?+
Uptime and website monitoring that sends its alerts to Slack instead of — or as well as — email. Uptimia checks your sites from 171+ checkpoints in 70+ countries and, when a failure is confirmed, posts to the Slack channel behind the webhook you gave it.
02Is Uptimia only about Slack alerts?+
No — Uptimia is a full monitoring platform with 12 monitor types: uptime, transactions, API chains, page speed, SSL, domains, DNS, blacklists, malware, servers, heartbeats and real-user data, plus public status pages and scheduled reports. Slack is one of the 12 ways to receive what they find.
03How fast will my team actually find out?+
Within seconds of the failure being confirmed. On uptime, speed, SSL and transaction monitors a failure is re-checked from backup regions first — you set how many must agree, up to 3 — so one flaky route never pages the channel.
04Can I handle the whole incident without leaving Slack?+
The response, yes: with an escalation policy attached (Professional plan and above), the acknowledge link in the message opens a confirmation page — no sign-in — the fix gets talked out under the alert, and the recovery posts itself. Creating and editing monitors happens in the Uptimia dashboard or the REST API; there are no Slack slash commands.
05Won't Slack get noisy?+
It is built to stay quiet: monitors that fail together on the same escalation policy merge into one incident with one digest and throttled updates, each recipient carries its own quiet-hours schedule, and monitors inside a maintenance window post nothing at all.
06Can different alerts go to different channels?+
Yes. A webhook belongs to the channel it was created in, so one webhook per channel is the whole trick — outages to #alerts-prod, certificate and domain warnings to #ops-warnings, speed to #perf-watch. Add as many as you need.
07Does the recovery show up in Slack too?+
Yes — when the monitor recovers, Uptimia posts to the same channel with the total time down, so nobody has to go and check whether it is fixed.
08Which monitor types can send Slack alerts?+
All 12 — uptime, transactions, API chains, page speed, SSL, domains, DNS, blacklists, malware, servers, heartbeats and real-user data can each name a Slack contact as a recipient.
09How do I connect Uptimia to Slack?+
It is an incoming webhook, so there is no bot to run and no OAuth scopes to review. In Slack, create an app from scratch, enable Incoming Webhooks and add one to a channel; in Uptimia, paste the hooks.slack.com URL, save, and press Test. Uptimia only ever POSTs to that host, over HTTPS, and never follows a redirect.
10Is Slack included, or does it cost extra?+
Slack is a built-in alert channel, not a paid add-on — and so are Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, Mattermost, PagerDuty, Twilio, WhatsApp, Atlassian Statuspage, SMS, email and webhooks: 12 in total. Slack alerts work during the free 30-day trial, no credit card required.
